Medical Laboratory Science Open House
Discover the Medical Laboratory Science program at Kent State University. This is a specialized program that allows students to combine three years of study at Kent State with 12 months of professional training at an approved hospital. Medical laboratory scientists are trained to perform complex chemical, microscopic and microbiological procedures. Meet with the program and clinical directors as well as current students.
Pre-Parade Block Party
On Saturday, October 11 from 9-10:30 a.m., stop by at the Risman Plaza and Student Green for the KSU Homecoming Pre-Parade Block Party. Come for food and beverages, caricature and balloon artists, music, fun games and giveaways courtesy of the Columbus Crew, inflatable attractions, and more! There is no better way to kick off the day of homecoming with this celebration of Flash and Kent State University! Once the parade starts at 10:30 a.m., attendees will be able to view the festivities from this same, convenient location. Open to any and all, including community members.
Child Development Center Annual Walk-a-thon
The Child Development Center will hold its annual Walk-a-thon on Thursday, October 9, and Friday, October 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., each day to raise money for new bicycles and other supplies and equipment for the Outdoor Learning Lab.
The children will walk from the CDC to the Student Center on the Kent Campus for yard games, popsicles and music. Please consider making a contribution.

Is the process confidential?
The process is semi-confidential, involving only the necessary parties based on the information shared. A peer mediator will not share any information casually and will not share the information beyond documenting that the conversation happened.
While the mediation is private, our staff are "responsible employees". They must report any information regarding sexual assault, discrimination, suicidal ideation, and threats of harm. You may need to speak with KSUPD, the Title IX office, or SRVVS based on your situation.
What can I expect during a mediation?
The mediator will:
- Find a space where all parties are comfortable talking.
- Set ground rules to ensure a respectful process.
- Act as a neutral party and assist both participants in expressing their points of view, interests, and goals of the mediation.
- Encourage participants to explore solutions to the identified issues and determine a path forward toward a potential agreement.
