Kent State University Honors Education, within the College of Honors and Global Education, is part of a long tradition of promoting academically talented students with a unique academic experience.

Honors Education offers talented and motivated undergraduate students a small liberal arts experience with the opportunities of a large public research university.

The Honors Concept

We are guided by two basic principles:

  • The responsibility to provide academic work that offers intellectual challenge that demands the best efforts of students.
  • The belief that all students should be liberally educated, regardless of degree program.

Kent State University Honors Education is an institutional member of the National Collegiate Honors Council and the Mid-East Honors Association.

The Stopher-Johnson Complex, located in the historic heart of the Kent Campus, houses the College of Honors and Global Education administrative offices and the Honors Residential Experience. Rebuilt from the ground-up, Stopher and Johnson Halls were constructed in the footprint of the original buildings in order to preserve the historic May 4th site. The complex occupies a prime location, along the pedestrian esplanade and close to the Kent Student Center and University Library.

Giving Opportunities

The support of our alumni and friends supports motivated, high-achieving students in reaching their full potential and gives us the ability to offer unique opportunities and resources. Donors can support students in a number of ways including tuition scholarships, study away scholarships, support for research and creative activities, and more.
