Two Kent State entrepreneurship students have turned their passion for Louisiana cuisine into a new pop-up restaurant, the Southern Comfort Kitchen. They hope the project eventually will fund their purchase of a food truck, which is their ultimate goal.   Water Street Tavern hosted Southern Comfort’s first pop-up restaurant on Oct. 25, where the pair served up New Orleans-style gumbo, shrimp, crabmeat and corn bisque. Kent State University at Tuscarawas’ Gunnar Tharp, of East Canton, scored his 1000th career point on Sunday, October 28, 2018, as the Golden Eagles opened the 2018-2019 basketball season by dominating Ohio University Zanesville 132-74. Tharp, a graduate of Canton South High School, is a sophomore majoring in both criminology and justice studies and sociology. He ended the game with 14 points.
