Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Center Director to lead our team in providing high-quality care and education for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing environment that supports the development of each child. 

This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with state regulations while promoting a positive learning atmosphere. 

  • The candidate must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • A minimum of at least two years in a leadership role in a child care center is preferred.
  • The candidate must successfully complete a background check and meet the qualifications specified by Ohio Job and Family Services and First Baptist Church of Alliance. 
  • The candidate must possess a strong Christian background and be an active member of a Christian church whose character and background can be attested to by her/his pastor. 

Duties

  • Oversee the daily operations of the child care center, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate Christian curricula that promote childhood development and learning.
  • Supervise, train, and support staff in their caregiving roles, fostering professional growth and teamwork.
  • Maintain compliance with all licensing requirements, health regulations, and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress, behavior management strategies, and any concerns.
  • Collaborate with community resources to support children with disabilities and their families.
  • Organize activities that promote social skills, emotional well-being, and cognitive development among toddlers, and preschoolers.
  • Manage enrollment processes and maintain accurate records of children's attendance and developmental milestones.

Experience

  • Proven experience early childhood education is essential.
  • Leadership experience in a child care setting 
  • Familiarity with working with children who have disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Experience in toddler care or preschool settings is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and childhood development principles.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with parents, staff, church leadership, and community partners. 
  • Be skilled in general office equipment, teaching technology, and software.

Job information

Full Time position – 40+ hours per week
Salary – $45,000 negotiable
