Accessing Articulated Credit

Required Forms

Articulated Credit Application, which can be accessed at https://www.kent.edu/techprep/student-credit-application or from the high school instructor or school counselor.
 

Required Documentation

  • Completed Student Credit Application 
    • All credit applications must be submitted by a student's high school or career center.
  • Final High School transcript
    • A student must have completed their program and graduated high school in order to be eligible for credit.
  • Any additional documentation required by the articulation agreement (i.e. proof of passage of certificate programs etc.)
    • Any requirements and documentation will be listed near the bottom of the student credit application in the boxes listed under 'Verification.'

When to access credit

Immediately following High graduation and through December 31st, three years after a student graduates high school.

  • The Office of Career Technical Education is unable to issue credit to students who graduated before Spring 2023.
  • For Spring 2022 Graduates that date is December 31, 2025
  • For Spring 2023 graduates that date is December 31, 2026
  • For Spring 2024 graduates that date is December 31, 2027
  • For Spring 2025 graduates that date is December 31, 2028

Steps to access credit

  1. Complete student portion of the Articulated Credit Application.
  2. Submit Articulated Credit Application to the high school career technical education instructor
  3. Complete admission process to KSU
  4. Graduate High School
  5. Complete High School transcript release form
  6. High school e-mails the completed application to techprepemail@kent.edu or the office representative (mcola@kent.edu
  7. The office verifies credit eligibility, and posts credit to the student's Kent State University transcript.
