As this academic year comes to a close we'd like to congratulate the achievements of our faculty and staff.   • Last week the Division of People, Culture and Belonging launched the 2025 Performance Management Review Cycle for classified and unclassified employees. As you may recall, Kent State University switched platforms this past fall from viDesktop to PageUp Performance. Training manuals and video resources are available on the performance evaluation webpage.

  • As part of a series of trainings dedicated to supervisors, we invite you to register for Handling Important Conversations on Wednesday, May 14. This session is designed to equip participants with the tools, skills and confidence needed to navigate emotional conversations successfully and professionally. Through interactive activities and practical exercises, participants will learn how to prepare for important conversations, anticipate and  manage their own emotions, keep the conversation on-track, and maintain respectful and honest communication. Register by 4 p.m.

  • The Division of IT is hosting Canvas workshops Thursday, May 15, 2025, to support faculty teaching during Summer 2025. These sessions will cover essential features and best practices for effective course delivery. Courses include Canvas Overview for Instructors from 9:15-10:30 a.m., Canvas Quizzes & Assignments from 10:50 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. and Canvas Communication Tools from 2:15-3:30 p.m.

  • Attend a free lecture series June 6-12 as part of the School of Art’s Annual Kent Blossom Art Intensives(KBAI) Program. Every year, visiting artists give public presentations on their work. All artist lectures are free and open to the public. Lectures are hosted by world-renowned guest artists in ceramics, painting, textiles and glass.

  • Liz Sinclair has been helping Kent State students since she was a Kent State student.

    The Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Assessment at the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship, Sinclair has worked with thousands of students during her 48-year career at the university. Now, as the end of the spring 2025 semester nears, she sets her sights on retirement.
