From its founding through 2023, Kent State Magazine brought the university's stories to life in print — celebrating alumni, research, campus life and the people who make Kent State what it is. Browse the full run of issues below.

These archived editions are preserved as a record of the university at each moment of publication. Content reflects what was known and current at the time of each issue and has not been revised or updated.

History of Kent State Magazine

The magazine began as a publication for the alumni of Kent State University and has undergone several redesigns and name changes over the years, becoming a university magazine in 2001 to the present time.

Kent State Magazine is available online in digital editions, as well as downloadable PDFs of the print editions, beginning with Spring 2015. In Fall 2023, the magazine stopped being printed and mailed and there are no longer downloadable PDFs in the digital edition.

Print editions prior to 2015 are available here as downloadable PDFs. (Note that summer issues for 2012, 2013, 2014 were app only and the app is no longer supported. So, unfortunately, the PDFs of those issues are not complete.)

Print editions of the magazine prior to 2005 can be viewed, in hard copy, by special request through the Special Collections and Archives of Kent State University Libraries.
