EHHS Doctoral Alumna Receives AERA Award

Congratulations to Joanna Dickert, Ph. D., the 2022 recipient of American Educational Research Association's Advanced Studies of National Databases Special Interest Group Dissertation award.

Previously a student in the School of Foundations, Leadership and Administration, Dickert's dissertation is titled "An Examination of the Effects of Participation in High-impact Practices Using Propensity Score Analysis with Structural Equation Modeling."

The national competition included applicants who graduated between Jan. 1,  through Dec. 31, 2021, and used national or international databases in their dissertation study.

AERA is a national research society that strives to advance knowledge about education, encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and promote the use of research to improve education and serve the public good.

Kent State University’s Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education recently was awarded a $50,000 grant to help train teachers in Southwestern Nigeria.

Adam Lockwood, Ph.D., associate professor in the School Psychology program at Kent State University, is featured in OpenAI Academy’s Professors Teaching with AI video series—an international showcase of how faculty across disciplines are integrating artificial intelligence into higher education.

The Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education recently welcomed a delegation from National Chiayi University in Taiwan.
