Hello, my name is Hanna Luna, and I am a junior in the Interpreting program. I decided to pursue this major because I have always loved the culture, history, and language, and I wanted to study them further while becoming more involved. I grew up in Washington State, and in 2021 my family and I moved to Medina, OH. I have commuted all three years while attending Kent and have been involved with different Bible study groups. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and spending time outdoors. Feel free to reach out to me with any comments or questions by email at hluna@kent.edu. Thank you!
Hello! My name is Maime Blados. Currently, I am a junior American Sign Language/English interpreting major at Kent State University. I am from Aurora, Ohio. I became interested in ASL when it was newly offered as a language at my high school. I took ASL during my junior and senior years of high school and loved it. Upon coming to Kent State, I took ASL as a minor. However, after my first semester, I was unhappy with my major and wanted something different. I switched to ASEI after consulting with a friend in the program, and I’ve never looked back! Throughout the program, I have expanded my knowledge of ASL and Deaf culture thanks to the incredible ASEI faculty. Outside of interpreting, I love singing, and I am a member of the Kent State University Gospel Choir. If you have any questions about the program or Kent State in general, feel free to email me at mblados@kent.edu.
