Kent State University at East Liverpool announces that Yvonne Trotter, Ph.D., is the recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Larry Froehlich, Ph.D., is receiving the 2026 Friend of Kent State University at East Liverpool Award. They were recognized at the recent campus awards banquet. 

Also at the event, the East Liverpool Masonic Temple received the Community Partner Award, recognizing its support of Kent State East Liverpool students and community outreach. 

Kent State University at East Liverpool recognized the academic achievements of several students during its annual campus awards banquet, while also honoring the service of faculty, staff and community leaders.

The awards and recipients are:

Kent State University at Salem recently presented John Tonti the Friend of the Campus award, the highest honor presented annually to non-students. It recognizes community members, businesses and organizations that support increasing access to higher education in Salem and surrounding communities.

Tonti is the president of the Salem Community Foundation, a position he has held since 1992. He began his tenure with the organization in 1981 as its treasurer.
