    Biography

    Sherylynn Chapman-Thomas is a native of Akron, Ohio, where she resides with her husband and two adult children. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and a 20-year educator in higher education. In her role, she strives to offer access and opportunities through campus programming and visit experiences to students in our pipeline (Akron, Public Schools, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Kent State’s First Star Academy/ Purple Umbrella, LeBron James Family Foundation, and Trio Upward Bound Programs).

    These experiences aid in providing exposure to our pipeline students and offer unlimited possibilities for post-secondary enrollment and beyond. She has worked in both private and public universities in Ohio for over 20 years. She has created programming ranging from recruitment, retention, and diversity to access and exposure. Working with youth from fourth grade to new freshman in college, and seeking to build relationships and connections with youth and provide them with resources to enhance their personal success.
