Angie Russell

Angie Russell joined Kent State University in August 2026 as a content optimization specialist on the Engagement and Optimization team within University Communications and Marketing. In this role, Angie uses search engine optimization (SEO), analytics and content strategy to strengthen the university’s digital visibility and help audiences more easily find and engage with Kent State content.

Angie brings more than 12 years of marketing experience across agency, manufacturing and nonprofit consulting environments. Her background includes SEO, content development, digital analytics, paid media and multi-location marketing strategy.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing Management and Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Akron and a Master of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

Outside of work, Angie enjoys beekeeping, gardening, photography and spending time with her husband, two children and two German shepherds.
