On May 10, 2025, Kent State University at Stark proudly hosted its 52nd Spring Commencement Ceremony at the campus’s Conference Center, celebrating the academic achievements of students who earned associate and bachelor’s degrees. The event marked a pivotal milestone in the lives of 104 graduates and served as a testament to their perseverance, dedication and academic excellence.
The ceremony brought together a vibrant community of family members, friends, faculty and staff, who filled the venue with applause and heartfelt emotion. Graduates were honored not only for their academic accomplishments but also for the resilience and determination they exhibited throughout their educational journeys.
Dr. Denise A. Seachrist, dean of Kent State Stark, delivered a warm and inspiring welcome, recognizing the significance of the moment for graduates and the broader campus community.
“As your dean, I warmly welcome each of you to celebrate this truly remarkable milestone in your lives and that of your alma mater,” said Seachrist. “You have earned the pride of this moment. Now is the time to excel personally and build upon the success you have achieved at your Hometown University. Never forget that you will always have a home at Kent State Stark.”
The commencement address was delivered by Todd Hawke, Director of Community, Government, and Business Engagement at the Stark Economic Development Board and Strengthening Stark, and Jackson Township Trustee. His address offered encouragement and insight, emphasizing the importance of networking, community involvement and lifelong learning.
