Dear Kent State University Faculty and Staff,
Welcome to the best week of the year, when over the course of seven days we celebrate summer graduates even while we greet thousands of new Golden Flashes as they move into the residence halls. Our residence hall assistants and student government leaders are in training and attending retreats, our sports teams are practicing and the Marching Golden Flashes are rehearsing their halftime show.
By the end of this week, we will have kicked off the fall semester with Convocation and ramped up our excitement with Blastoff.
All of you play a part not just in these activities but in everything that makes Kent State a special place to work, live, grow and play.
As we begin this new semester together, I wanted to offer a message of encouragement by sharing a portion of Saturday’s commencement speech addressing how we can come together in these trying times.
I appreciate you – not just the you who comes to work every day but also the you who puts your heart and soul into helping our students to achieve and our campus community to thrive.
