Dr. Richard Cowan

I received my Ph.D. from the NASP-approved and APA-accredited School Psychology program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My doctoral training included the completion of an APA- accredited and APPIC- member pre-doctoral internship in Pediatric Psychology within the Department of Psychology at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation (University of Nebraska Medical Center). Through my internship experience, I earned a Certificate of Interdisciplinary Leadership Training in Developmental Disabilities. My primary line of inquiry focuses on the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational and treatment programs for students with autism. My scholarly and clinical pursuits also focus on the implementation and evaluation of multi- tiered systems of support across the universal, targeted, and intensive levels of intervention for a variety of students in educational settings. I remain involved in a variety of scholarly endeavors with local, regional, and national organizations whose missions align with enhancing the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success of students in a variety of educational settings.
