Anna Grudskaya
Biography
Anna Grudskaya is a classically-trained pianist and pedagogue. Winner of the Concerto/Aria Competition at Santa Clara University, the Van Waynen Piano Competition and Hartt Chamber Music Competition, Dr. Grudskaya has performed in concert halls in the United States and abroad. Festival appearances have included the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria; International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City; Aspen Music Festival; and Beijing International Music Festival and Academy. As a performer, she enjoys both solo and collaborative performances. Recent performances have included a recording of "En Contretemps" by Istvan Hornyak for the Kent State University Dance Program. She also appears often as a solo and chamber musician for M.U.S.i.C. - Stars in the Classics concerts in and around Cleveland.
Grudskaya currently serves as piano faculty at Kent State University, The Hartt Community Division, The Music Settlement, and summer faculty at Interlochen Center for the Arts. She has previously taught as piano faculty at New York University, The Hartt School, and has instructed piano lessons through her private piano studio since 2007. She is a member of the Steinway & Sons Educational Partnership.
Grudskaya has earned degrees from The Hartt School (Doctor of Musical Arts with a minor in Music History), New York University (Advanced Certificate), Mannes College of Music (Master of Music) and Santa Clara University (Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science). Her primary teachers have included Hans Boepple, Pavlina Dokovska, Vladimir Valjarevic, Eteri Andjaparidze and David Westfall. She has also worked with distinguished artists, such as Menahem Pressler, Nelita True, Boris Berman, Ann Schein, Alan Chow and Alessio Bax.
