She earned her PhD in Modern European History from the University of Chicago. Her book Regional Dress: Between Tradition and Modernity, which examines the development and preservation of traditional or folk dress practices in Alsace in the face of pressure both from political conflict and mainstream fashion, was published by Bloomsbury in June 2022.
