Kent State Tinder Couple Meets for the First Time on GMA

Michelle Arendas and Josh Avsec have bantered on Tinder for three years, but never met until Tuesday morning on ABC’s Good Morning America.

The two Kent State University students sat side-by-side with a wall separating them as GMA hosts Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer asked questions about how much the students have in common.

Before the big reveal, Arendas and Avsec learned that food is most important on the “perfect” date. Their favorite go-to junk food is chips, and their favorite TV show to binge on is “The Office.” Tinder is sending Arendas and Avsec to Maui, Hawaii for their first date.

Watch GMA as the two meet face-to-face for the first time.

State Rep. Steve Demetriou (R-Bainbridge Twp.) toured Kent State University's Twinsburg Academic Center, stopping by classrooms and one of the center's nursing simulation labs to see firsthand how the campus serves students in the Twinsburg area.

Ukrainian teacher Olena Riabushenko said she didn’t expect to be at Kent State again, but returning as a two-time Fulbright Scholar was an easy decision thanks to her Friendship Family.

The start of a new semester can be challenging for any student but may be even more so for international students. Kent State's International Student Resource Fair offers a welcoming space for international students who are looking for opportunities to get involved on campus and in the community.
