Biography

My name is Sara Knapp, and I am thrilled to be part of the Child Development Center at Kent State University. I am originally from Arizona but have lived in Ohio for over seven years. I started my teaching career as a 2018 Teach for America corp member in Cleveland, Ohio. What began as a two-year commitment quickly became a career I adore. Helping Kindergarteners progress in their academic, social-emotional, motor, and language development is a challenge I am happy to accept each day. Before teaching at the CDC, I taught Kindergarten for four years in a language immersion school (Spanish). This is my 5th year of teaching and 2nd year at the CDC. Some noteworthy accomplishments while at the CDC include designing an after-school enrichment program and being accepted into Groundwork Ohio’s 2022 Early Childhood Leadership Fellowship.
