    Biography

    Dr. Kim Laurene graduated with a doctorate in psychology from Bowling Green State University. She is an Assistant Professor and the Principal Investigator for two federally-funded grants: More Aware and NEO MHAT. She has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in public health, statistics, and psychology. She is a certified QPR instructor and an Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor. Dr. Laurene serves as the advisor for Active Minds and is the Co-Director of the Student Mental Health Coalition. Her research aims to understand and support mental health, emphasizing mental health correlates and help-seeking behavior. Specifically, she focuses on assessing and developing mental health awareness trainings, which is used to raise mental health awareness and train individuals to respond to those in distress effectively.
